The Samsung SGH-G600 is a five megapixel camera phone, and it's Samsung's first device of this resolution to be launched outside the Korean market. Still, what we do know the is the Samsung SGH-G600 comes with a 5 megapixel camera with autofocus and flash.. if our interpretation of the Korean press release* is up to scratch. It also has Bluetooth, an FM radio, USB 2.0 and presumably expandable memory and an MP3 player plus a QVGA (240x320 pixel display).

What the Samsung G600 does have is the usual range of applications such as an MP3/AAC/WMA player, stereo Bluetooth, TV output and microSD expandable memory (an impressive 1GB in the standard sales package). The display is a 2.2" 240x320 pixel panel in 16 million colours, and the Samsung SGH-G600 also squeezes in an FM radio.

In addition to the 5 megapixel stills camera, Samsung say that the SGH-G600 can capture video at up to 640 x 480 pixels. Combine this with the TV output and memory card and the G600 looks like a capable little digital camcorder.

Sleek Little Package - January 13, 2008
Reviewer: Lawrence, Vancouver
I've had this phone for about 3 days now, and Im finally understanding how the interface works. The interface isn't quite as intuitive as you would find on a Sony Ericsson phone, which is probably my favorite UI.

This is one phone that will definately grab some attention but doesn't look over done. The sliding aspect of the phone is very solid. Sliding up and down always ends with a nice 'click'. I also like the fact that the keys feel separated instead of flush with each other. It makes texting a lot easier.

Call volume is very nice. That was the main issue I had with my previous SE. It just wasn't loud enough to hear people in a louder enviroment. Now I only have to put the volume up half way and I can hear them.

For phone it has quite a nice camera built into it. With 5MP you can grab some nice photos with it. It has all the standard options you would find on most digital cameras as well. It may seem overwhelming at first, but once you start taking some photos with it you'll get the hang of it.

The music player is very clear on both the headphones that come with it or directly from the speaker. I like the fact that it has a built in feature to sync up with your PC through WIndows Media Player.

Now the bad points of the phone. The one thing that bugs me most about this phone is the fact that from the start screen, the center button brings up the internet browser, and it can't be changed. Luckily I haven't set up my browser yet to connect to my service provider.

Also the operator logo doesnt' show my provider's name, it just shows it's designation number. 302 720 Luckily if you're not using the dynamic wallpaper(unfortunately because this is a really neat feature, it changes depending on time of day, signal strength, and where you are in the world) you can remove the operator logo all toegether.
